Positive Reviews

Clean and comfortable hotel with good facilities

Most reviewers were positive about the facilities and rooms at this hotel. There was praise for the indoor swimming pool and gym as well as the rooms, which positive reviewers called clean and comfortable. The comfort of the beds divided opinion, however. Some guests said they were among the most comfortable they had ever slept on; others felt the mattresses were too hard.

Good central Sydney location

Visitors appreciated the convenient central Sydney location offering appealing city views from some rooms. The many attractions plus entertainment and dining options around Darling Harbour were within ten minutes' walk. It was also easy to connect to public transport nearby.

Praise for customer service and dining

On the whole, guests were upbeat about the customer service. Staff were reportedly friendly, helpful and courteous. The restaurant was a hit with many diners who appreciated the wide range of hot and cold options at breakfast and the extensive lunch and dinner menu.

Negative Reviews

Some doubts over value for money

Some critics felt they got more bang for their buck at other hotels of a similar standard that they had experienced before. Reviewers cited issues like some underwhelming rooms which were a bit dated looking, small bathrooms, aging carpets, tired furnishings and mold. Moreover, there were claims that sometimes consumables in rooms weren't always replenished when housekeeping did their rounds.

Wi-Fi wasn't free in standard rooms

The lack of a free Wi-Fi connection in standard guest rooms seemed to bother quite a few guests who thought charges for using it ought to be scrapped.

Obstacles to sleep

Noise from adjacent rooms and corridors plus occasional street noise prevented light sleepers from getting a good night's rest in some rooms. Others claimed the blinds did little to exclude light.
