Positive Reviews

Modern facilities.

Areas such as the communal bathroom and kitchen seemed to be relatively new, and guests appreciated this update. Because things had been well maintained, everything was in working order and guests had no complaints about things breaking down or needing repairs.

Ideal location.

Right in the heart of trendy Newton, guests had nothing bad to say about the location. It was only three train stops into Sydney, and a popular spot for live music, Enmore Theatre, was a quick walk away.

Off street parking.

Guests were pleasantly surprised to find that they could securely park their car for a small extra fee. The neighbourhood was conducive of exploring on foot, and those who drove to get there had a handy option for leaving their vehicle.

Negative Reviews

Could be cleaner.

Many guests advised others to steer clear of the kitchen. High traffic areas simply weren't kept clean enough for many guests' taste, and several felt that cleanliness standards were far too low.

Ear plugs could be your best friend.

Although it is a small hostel, many were still bothered by the noise of other guests. Inconsiderate guests were the norm here, and little was done to enforce a noise curfew. If you plan on going to bed early or are a light sleeper, this is something to take into consideration.

Hit and miss staff.

Unfortunately some staff members just weren't made for the hospitality industry. Guests regularly reported unpleasant interactions with rude employees and felt that bad customer service overshadowed the rest of their stay.
