Positive Reviews

Staff are very welcoming.

This hotel has a very friendly, laid-back feel, largely because the people who run it are some of the friendliest and most down-to-earth-people you could hope to meet. Without doubt, you really are assured of a very generous and genuine Geordie welcome wh

Location is very handy.

As well as being an easy 15-minute walk from the city centre, The Brighton also benefits from having a number of handy bus routes stopping very close by. The hotel's proximity to the A1 and A69 is a bonus too as it makes driving into the city a breeze.

Guest rooms are immaculate.

What The Brighton's guest bedrooms lack in luxury they more than make up for in cleanliness and tidiness. Truly, the rooms here are spotless.

Negative Reviews

No in-room tea/coffee making facilities.

Whilst having tea/coffee making facilities in the guest lounges is all well and good, being obliged to make small talk with your fellow guests isn't always top of your agenda. Let's face it, nothing beats relaxing within 'your' own four rooms and enjoying

Neighbourhood isn't the most appealing.

Although Arthur's Hill is a handy place to stay, it is hardly Newcastle's most charming or aesthetically appealing neighbourhood. Some first-time visitors have even noted feeling a degree of trepidation at times when exploring the area after dark...

Mobile coverage is bit sketchy.

Hardly the hotel's fault but for some reason it can be quite hard to get a decent phone signal in and around this area. Naturally, some providers will fair better than others but it's certainly something worth keeping in mind...
