Guests often describe the neighbourhood as "very walkable" , noting that they can reach many of the major tourist sites, including the colourful storefronts of Bryggen, the fishmarket, museums, St. Mary's Church, and much more in just a few minutes on foot. The airport shuttle bus stops right in front of the hotel entrance. There are many restaurants, cafes, and shops, even a 7-Eleven within easy walking distance as well.

Most guests give the front desk staff rave reviews for their personable and professional customer service, commenting often on their enthusiastic approach to providing directions, recommending restaurants, and accommodating special requests or resolving issues.

Most guests enjoy a great night's sleep in the comfortable, modern rooms. Guests who pay a little more to stay in a suite, or in one of the Business Class rooms, generally agree that they provide particularly good value, as these rooms include their own Nespresso machines as well as a bit of extra space. The Super Breakfast Buffet generally lives up to its name, as guests appreciate its wide variety of hot and cold options, including fresh waffles and Scandinavian specialties, such as herring. A few were particularly pleased to find coffee carafes on each table.

Several guests note that the hotel is very popular with large tour groups, and that these large groups can make for a bit of a "chaotic" and "crowded" feeling in the lobby and at the breakfast buffet.

The Radisson Blu Seaside is not air-conditioned, and a few guests found that opening the windows let in too much street noise with the fresh air.

The Standard Rooms reportedly do not offer much storage space for clothes.
