Hotel OYO Lonsdale Guest House (Oxford, United Kingdom)

Though not directly in the Oxford city centre, the B&B is quite nicely located in a lovely neighbourhood known as Summertown. It is within walking distance of most major sights, as well as dining, shopping, and entertainment. Guests say there's plenty to do, lots of nice places to eat and many interesting boutiques to visit, just a short walk away. In addition, there's a bus stop conveniently located right outside the hotel, and several grocery stores are located nearby.

Make sure not to miss out on the lovely continental breakfast. Though simple, guests say the selection is quite plentiful and tasty. The spread features the standard layout of fresh fruit, bakery items, cereal, toast, boiled eggs, and hot drinks.

Overall, guests were satisfied with their stay here. The rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable, and the Wi-Fi is functionable and fast. There are even nice complimentary toiletries included. In addition, the staff are said to be accommodating, and are even known to go out of their way. Guests appreciated that even though there wasn't someone onsite 24/7, the hosts provided clear late-arrival instructions.

There is complimentary parking onsite, but since the number of spots are limited, guests recommend arriving early to secure a spot.

Many recent reviews show that the hotel is a bit outdated and has lots of maintenance issues throughout, especially in the bathrooms. Guests have reported various fixtures being broken, and thought that redecorating is a must. There is also an unpleasant musty smell in many of the rooms.

Because there is no elevator onsite and only one ground-floor room, it's recommended that you book early if stairs may be an issue for you.
